Description

'You're only as strong as your recovery.' Indulge in a nourishing 75-minute restorative yoga class that will deeply relax, renew and rejuvenate the body. This is the perfect practice for you if you say 'yes' to any of the following: You experience feelings of stress, frustration or worry on a daily basis You have trouble sleeping You are recovering from an injury or illness You take part in strenuous physical activities like strength training, HIIT, sports or running/cycling You are interested in self-care, meditation, or learning the tools to induce deep states of relaxation What is restorative yoga? Restorative yoga is a practice that involves supporting the body with a variety of props (blankets, bolsters, straps, blocks) and completely relaxing into poses for several minutes at a time. The body moves gently through all ranges of motion like backbends, forward folds, twists, inversions while being 100% supported, which allows you to be totally mindful of the breath in a relaxed, yet aware state. In restorative yoga, the emphasis is on being, not doing. One of the biggest benefits of restorative yoga is that it stimulates our parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), or our 'rest and digest' response in the body. Most of the time we spend our day in 'fight of flight' mode. By actively stimulating the PNS, we can bring our bodies better into balance and condition ourselves to becoming more relaxed, calm and composed throughout the day.
