Established after 2015's Raising the Bar Sessions, The Halton Food Security Alliance is a collective impact initiative intent on creating a Halton in which no neighbour goes hungry and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The Alliance is rolling out community consultations with the goal of forming working groups in several areas of impact. It is intended that these working groups will help create the content of a 5 year comprehensive plan for large scale funding for the sector. It is very important that all voices are heard, and that the plan is truly co-designed as we align for impact. As a wondeful segway to our first working group: Common Intake across Halton, The Oakville Community Foundation (OCF) has just released a new RFP process called, 'Be Cause Oakville', which allows for collaborative applications to create a common/ centralized intake system for the food security sector. This event,'Aligning for Impact through Common Intake' will bring together fellow agencies and partners in the food security system. Throughout this morning breakfast meeting we will discuss the opportunity provided by the OCF, and strike a working group to take the lead on this initiative.
