This 7-part series will help aspiring musicians and producers learn some of the fundamental skills required in order to find success in the music industry. Mateo Palmisano of XitMuse will share practical information and provide useful tips on topics such as songwriting, studio recording, distribution and marketing strategies, prepping for a gig, and even landing a recording contract. Each session will conclude with time for questions and discussion. You can register for all seven lectures or just the topics that interest you the most.

Mateo has been working in the music industry since 2003 as a writer, recording/mixing engineer, producer, composer and music production educator. Early in his career, he was fortunate enough to have been mentored by Joe Warlick (Mixer/Engineer for artists like Nate Dogg, The Game, T.I., etc.) and Peter Prilesnik (Engineer/Producer for artists like Big Sugar, Sarah Harmer, etc.). After building a reputation for himself, he eventually went on to produce music for various artists on Universal Music Group, and engineer for Sony/ATV.

Currently, Mateo works in the heart of Downtown Toronto, in the 401 Richmond building, composing music for film and TV, creating online music production tutorials and working with independent artists to help them get their music to the world.
