Island Lake Conservation Area is home to 807 acres of lake, wetland, forest and meadow in the Towns of Orangeville and Mono. This area plays an important role in protecting the headwaters of the Credit and Nottawasaga Rivers, and provides habitat for an abundance of fish, plants, amphibians, mammals and birds, including the majestic Osprey. Island Lake is a natural playground; many visitors enjoy a lakeside walk, family sized and large gatherings, canoeing, ice skating, boat and ice hut rentals. Fishing is from a boat or through the ice. Or try your luck for Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Perch and Crappie in one of our fishing derbies. Visit Island Lake for an hour, or for the day in all four seasons.
