Description

Our community has always experienced highs and lows, and being LGBT2Q+ can bring unique experiences that impact our mental health in different ways. Come and learn about some of these realities, how they might impact us, as well as strategies for coping, growing, and moving forward. We'll explore how we can try to cultivate resilience and strength to persevere through these times, both as individuals and as a collective community. Snacks and refreshments provided. Check out all Winter Pride events here.About the Facilitators:Chrissy/Chris Grimard works at HIV/AIDS Resources and Community Health (ARCH) as the Capacity Builder. Their duties involve online outreach, and supporting healthcare providers and peers from the trans, non-binary, and HIV communities, with their lovely co-workers, in order to create programming for the community. Chrissy enjoys cooking, baking, nature, hiking, walking, exploring, photography, getting creative and crafty, and lookin' FIERCE. Chrissy is a white, Métis, vegan, femme, transgender, non-binary, queer whose pronouns are they/them.Jasper is a passionate community organizer and currently works as a sexual health educator with HIV/AIDS Resources and Community Health and helps to coordinate their transgender peer program. They have delivered a wide array of workshops and sessions on the unique needs of LGBT2Q+ people when it comes to mental health as well as ways in which we can cultivate a sense of meaning, strength, and resiliency - even in the toughest of times. Jasper also works as the director and program coordinator of the trans, non-binary and gender variant group Gender Intersect spearheading a variety of trans-specific programming, workshops, socials, special events and educational workshops. In the rare instances that they're not working, they enjoy photography, hiking, kayaking, reading, backcountry camping, urban exploration and are always on the search for something new to learn. Jasper is a white, transmasculine, non-binary person who uses they/them pronouns.
