Looking to flex those writing muscles? Check out HYWire! A series of guided interactive writing sessions hosted by The Burlington Slam Project founder and award-winning poet, Tomy Bewick. Bring a pad and pen, or borrow ours; just come ready to write. Prompts will be provided. Sharing is not mandatory, but encouraged. Feel free to bring a piece of work for feedback at the end of the session. While we try to encourage young writers to get out and get writing; this space is for all ages. We say 12+ as basic reading and writing comprehension are required, but have had 10 year olds participate successfully in the past. Please note the new location for this year is the Alton location of Burlington Library - located inside Frank J Hayden Secondary School! These workshops are totally FREE, but donations are accepted.
