Description | Join Oakvillegreen and the Oakville Public Library Seed Library, at the Iroquois Ridge Branch - Creation Zone, for this seedy workshop! Learn to use the ‘winter sowing’ method to grow milkweed and other native perennials from seed. An easy, fun, and inexpensive way to get started growing your own native plants for pollinators! Space is limited. Pre-registration for this free workshop via the link above is required. Participants wishing to plant milkweed at the workshop should bring planting containers. Translucent milk jugs, 1 litre clear plastic bottles, deep tupperware, or produce containers (eg. lettuce/mushroom/strawberries) work well. Please also bring sharp scissors, a bucket or large bowl, and seeds. Common milkweed seeds and potting mix will be provided. ... |
