Description | The Solidarity Alliance is a subcommittee of the Rainbow Community Council (RCC), which functions as a working group that strives to increase safe access to services for LGBTQ+ newcomers in Waterloo Region. We are proud to offer, in partnership with the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants(OCASI), and the Outlook Study, an action planning and organizational change workshop surrounding issues based on local data of LGBTQ+ lived experience and best practices. Are you a community member, service provider or volunteer who wants to learn how to support the inclusion of Newcomers from the LGBTQ+ community? Please join us for a free, 3-hour workshop that will give participants the opportunity to do evidence-based action planning surrounding organizational policy and change. The Solidarity Alliance will begin with an introduction regarding local efforts in creating safer spaces that increase inclusion for LGBTQ+ Newcomers. This information will be followed by a presentation of data and results about LGBTQ+ newcomer’s experiences in Waterloo Region by researchers from the Outlook Study. |
