Description | February is Heart Month, and you're invited to come have a “heart to heart” about your cardiovascular health at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre (PSWC). The Central East Regional Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Service is partnering with PSWC to host our second annual Heart to Heart Community Talk on February 22 for residents to come learn about improving their heart health and achieving a better quality lifestyle. The event will feature a panel of expert hospital staff — including exercise therapists, nurse practitioners, a dietitian and pharmacist — who will have a free-flowing discussion about a number of heart health topics. Topics to include: Cardiovascular disease and risk factors, heart-healthy eating, benefits of exercise, managing medications, heart failure, cultural factors, and smoking cessation Community members will also hear from a cardiac patient who will speak about their experience. Everyone is welcome; admission and parking are free. Staff from the regional program will also be performing blood pressure tests and providing one-on-one consultations on cardiovascular health. Plus free touch screen gloves for staying active this winter! Join us for this event and receive a free pair of touch screen gloves. You can get outdoors and stay active this winter, and keep your fingers warm while using your smartphone for fitness apps and to play music. ... |
