NBSO welcomes a concertino group of advanced string students and many young percussionists to perform Jeffrey Ryan's 'And the Children Shall Lead,' composed to celebrate the year 2000 in Canada.  Calvin Cheng, NBSO Concertmaster and String School instructor, takes centre stage in Beethoven's popular F-Major Romance for Violin.  The picturesque and spirited compositional style of Copland abounds in his orchestral Suite from Appalachian Spring.
