Applications have grown beyond cryptocurrencies to smart-contracts, distributed ledgers, online voting, insurance, and the healthcare supply chain to name a few. Some believe that there is tremendous potential for blockchain technologies to usher in an era of unprecedented trust and transparency, but there still exist fundamental questions that need to be answered. This seminar series seeks to assemble mathematicians, statistician, computer scientists, and other research scientists as well as industry experts to discuss the current breakthroughs and research challenges in areas that underpin blockchain technology.
