Description

Encompassing the Hills of Headwaters, York & Durham Regions, Central Counties is the place to Pursue your Passion! With both winter & summer activities, indoor & out, there is something for everyone! Food, attractions, outdoor fun, festivals & more!

Durham Region...Good Natured, Good Times:
Durham Region lies immediately to the east of the City of Toronto within the Greater Toronto Area and encompasses an area of approximately 2,590 square kilometres (1,000 square miles). The area is characterized by a variety of landscapes and communities. A series of major lakeshore urban communities contrast with a variety of small towns, villages, hamlets and farms. The relatively flat lakeshore area contrasts with the topography of the Oak Ridges Moraine to the north. This diverse landscape of woods, headwaters, ridges and hollows gives way to rolling farmlands and lakes to the north. Here the municipality spreads into the prime recreational lakelands of Simcoe, Scugog and the Kawarthas.

York Region...Eat, Play, Stay Local
Just minutes north of Toronto, York Region is a special place – it is uniquely characterized by its rich cultural diversity, vibrant community life, vast green spaces and Lake Simcoe waterfront. As a resident or visitor, you will find there is much for you to discover and experience.

The Hills of Headwaters ...SO REAL‚ SO MUCH‚ SO CLOSE

This is where both arctic swans and hungry travellers stop on their way home. Where every creek, barn and chicken has a name. Where the evening brings out warm salamanders, cold craft beers and a billion stars. Where mayors bake pies, streams run under houses, and art lovers, hikers, cyclists and wanderers find heaven.
