A passionate humanitarian, dedicated teacher, and internationally renowned researcher, Dr. Alastair Summerlee served as president of the University of Guelph from 2003 to 2014, retired briefly, then became the Interim President of Carleton University. He is also the director of research for the Lucky Iron Fish Project, a project which started in Cambodia to encourage women to add fish-shaped cast-iron ingots to boiling water in their cooking pots to act as iron supplementation.
